The place seems to have gone a bit upmarket since then as I remember it as a pretty basic boozer. We'd usually end up in the Calthorpe Arms a bit further down Grays Inn Road, where on a Saturday night you'd invariably end up drinking with Guardian journalists coming off shift from their offices which were then just round the corner in Farringdon Street.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00387170913578542671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6677885556404476308.post-5010071175781098672020-09-03T05:27:51.764+01:002020-09-03T05:27:51.764+01:00" I have it backed-up, but not very recently...." I have it backed-up, but not very recently."

Sigh. As I tell my darling wife (with respect to her accounting stuff on her laptop for her business) - do it at least every bloody weekend!

"and a friendly 60 year old bloke born in 1960 called Citra (his parents were fans of hop varieties long before it was cool) turns to me and says "wot pub you off to next Si?""

Blimey! I'd have had a heart attack if that happened to me!
(hopefully that won't be construed as too rude)

"I don't feel an affinity with Clapham Junction like I do with Croydon, messy transport interchange splurge which even in these 'coviddeo killed the radio star' times just has too many flakey fakers floating about within 5 mins of the epic railway station."

Ok. No offence but... you sure can ramble on! :)

"In truth, it was the staff who made it. "

The unsung heroes of every service establishment.

"Which is good, cos that is what I did."

(guffaw)

"Okay so she initially called him a cabbage, but corrected herself within two seconds, so we'll let her off."

I could understand the mistake if he was wearing his mask. ;)

"Massive in Malibu, ginormous in Germany, and David Hasselhoff wasn't bad either"

(slow golf clap) :)

"Looks more like Courtney Walsh than Courtney Cox now I'm sober again"

It's the arms.

"Looking a bit wired"

And expecting lots of rain, judging by your pants.
(trousers?)

"Imagine how amazing this pint would've been in a glass? "

Sigh. Plastic is for near the pool and various sporting events. Sheesh!

"and no one really sure which were men's, women's, either,"

Over here, a few places have gone 'unisex'. That is; one line, one person per loo, take whichever comes first.

"Questioning my mortality"

Good God man! You're barely 40!

"the decision to both go for this Honey & Cheesecake sour beer."

I wouldn't like that as an ice cream flavour!

"But not 2020, thinks it can change all the rules doesn't it the utter bastard!"

Apparently it's called 'the new normal'. :)

"Cooking Lager asking me to take a selfie whilst having a dump. "

I really, really, don't want to know (or see!).

"Where's my shoes?"

Where's your shoes! Where's your good sense in paying that price for 2/3 or a pint. Yikes!

"This one's for Cooking Lager"

I did ask above.

"But if I'm being brutally honest, I can see why it isn't in the GBG!"

Pfft. By that time you couldn't see straight about anything! :)

"Great day, lovely to meet Citra, top chap, and six good ticks done"

The company makes all the difference. :)

Cheers

Russtovichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11493687426847380993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6677885556404476308.post-67002756703257670272020-09-02T22:00:40.602+01:002020-09-02T22:00:40.602+01:00Utter madness, but a really good day out.Utter madness, but a really good day out.Citrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12931208325160466560noreply@blogger.com
