Years ago when Mrs RM and I stayed...Yes good cats.

Years ago when Mrs RM and I stayed in posh places like Cas and Wakey (?), she'd send me out to get a pizza from Knottingley. Darios in the little row of shops in the centre is a rare proper Italian place. Still there I think.

Since they changed the M62/A1 junction we can't work out how to get there anymore (honest). Would like to go back to Steampacket though; my sort of pub.

I can't believe anyone else would go Head of Steam to Steampacket; very suspicious.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6677885556404476308.post-17620354451741224772015-12-01T15:32:20.895+00:002015-12-01T15:32:20.895+00:00Good to hear you're a pub cat fan!Good to hear you're a pub cat fan!Curmudgeonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02558747878308766840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6677885556404476308.post-90887500737359158992015-11-05T22:12:58.859+00:002015-11-05T22:12:58.859+00:00I've had reason to visit Knottingley as I have...I've had reason to visit Knottingley as I have viewed locomotives on the depot from the grass bank. I'd say a roughly hourly service is reasonable if not brilliant. I suspect there is the odd bit of funny timetabling around the evening peak to accommodate the daily through train through Snaith and Rawcliffe to Goole.

It is perhaps a shame that the Head of Steam is situated where it is, as otherwise it would perhaps work pre-match for when we lose at Bellend Road. As it is, I think it will be too obvious for comfort.

Was the Marstons Green Hop actually made with green hops, or is it just a name to lure you in? It is certainly the back end of the right time of year.

I think you are on the money, maybe even generous with dodgy. I have always thought shithole from my brief impressions, though Pontefract pleasantly surprised me when I had a more thorough visit so I may give it another chance. I'm not sure when or why though, so I probably won't.

I was attacked by a cat through a letterbox today, thus letting the species down in my opinion. I have now been assaulted by an equal number of cats and dogs. I've never been assaulted by a swearing parrot though.

I'd be quite surprised if the witch and husband weren't on the same train as you. At one point, Northumberland extended as far south as Hull (possibly when it was called Wyke), so you have been to a number of pubs in the old county.

Can you not just turn Newtonmas nights out into glorified BRAPA nights? Just make sure you have some fairly easily attainable pubs left for when it is suggested, then Bob's your uncle. Simple.Tom Irvinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15707212109059322727noreply@blogger.com
