Although it is probably a little steeper than that to the Green Owl, I could imagine Hercules struggling there.Tom Irvinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15707212109059322727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6677885556404476308.post-24113023080762347382016-07-20T02:29:04.993+01:002016-07-20T02:29:04.993+01:00The second half, when more juniors appeared, was t...The second half, when more juniors appeared, was the best of the game for City in Cleethorpes, although that is typical of the big fat head away from home. I see Jarrod Bowen scored the winner at Field Mill last night. I have 3-1 on 20th place. The bookies refused a bet on us finishing with less than 11 points. We're going down you know.

I have a policy of reading the Yorkshire Post in between watching people from the library balcony most evenings. I pick up crap bits of knowledge like that doing this.

Virtually all good pubs will have something in common with the Green Owl. Some will have more than others. If you ever find a spitting image please let me know immediately so I can go straight there and marry Emily.Tom Irvinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15707212109059322727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6677885556404476308.post-75684837900387849072016-07-18T21:21:00.545+01:002016-07-18T21:21:00.545+01:00Well, our kids beat Ferriby 2-0 but our first team...Well, our kids beat Ferriby 2-0 but our first team could only draw 0-0 at Grimsby so that leads me to one of two conclusions 1. Grimsby are 2 goals better than Ferriby OR 2. Our kids are better than our first teamers and Steve Bruce doesn't know what he is doing.

I hate to sound like Tom but we are going down you know.

Tom, impressed with your Black Lace knowledge, Martin, love that middle paragraph of your first comment.

Tom, you have got me thinking which real pubs are most like the Green Owl. It's tricky. There'd be a bit of Sair at Linthwaite, a bit of Rat & Ratchet, a bit of Bradford's Fighting Cock and Jacobs. Tricky though.Si 'BRAPA' Everitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17291680772889990384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6677885556404476308.post-69123052298972211922016-07-11T21:34:15.063+01:002016-07-11T21:34:15.063+01:00There have been takeover rumours but I suspect now...There have been takeover rumours but I suspect now that the team have been promoted the Egyptian arseholes will see the pound notes (yet again I failed to get one in Scotland on Saturday) and stay on.

I have calculated the probability of us staying up to be 0.000000000000000000000000001%. You will however be baffled to know that I haven't the faintest idea who Maria McKee is.

The desperado was right to break into the beer garden. It is a public house, they should at the very least be open when they say they are going to be.

I know there are huge differences and it isn't nearly as good, but there are elements of your Tally Ho report that remind me of the Green Owl. Two friendly sisters working keenly in the pub, keeping it family run. Beer garden. Relatively rural. Beer garden. Does either brunette sister qualify for any end of season award?

I understand Agadoo (wasn't the band actually Black Lace) are unavailable to perform at the Dog and Partridge as the singer is in prison for benefit fraud. Although the singer changed at some point I believe so they could get the original one back. Clearly getting David Julian to cover is far simpler.

A bus running 26 minutes late when they run every 15 minutes is a perfect demonstration as to why I dislike buses immensely. There is no trust there.

Whilst eating olives is more of a Portuguese pasttime than French, I think the potential victims of a heinous olive theft look more French, and I'm sure olives are readily available to French southerners, who I suppose are practically Algerian. Commiserations or congratulations to them in either case, I have thus far not collided with the result.

We're going down you know.Tom Irvinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15707212109059322727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6677885556404476308.post-30960611406284559232016-07-11T00:24:37.642+01:002016-07-11T00:24:37.642+01:00No comments yet ! What do people want ?

It's the people who make the pubs, whether Judgey Jesus or rebellious tattooed Sophie, not the minor variations in beer styles that are much less noticeable than variations in cellarmanship.

You won't believe this, but I used to wear one of those jackets in 1985 when Maria McKee popularised it for punkabilly geeks for 10 minutes.

retiredmartinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15429804437739227082noreply@blogger.com
